Director of Lyndale Nurseries, Malcolm Woolmore, has been granted Honorary Life Membership of NZPPI in recognition and appreciation of his outstanding and dedicated service.
In granting this award, the NZPPI Board member Marie Taylor said the life membership recognises Malcolm’s “commitment to leadership and the contribution to our industry’s reputation and success.”
As well as being a founder director of Lyndale, Malcom is a member of the KiwiFlora team and a director at Custom Mix.
The NZPPI Board citation states that Malcolm “is an accomplished and passionate horticulturalist, plantsman and industry player. Over more than four decades he’s developed his craft, built businesses, helped shape our industry and secured enduring relationships both in New Zealand and overseas.
“Malcolm’s contribution to industry affairs is extensive, long and impactful. He served several terms over two decades on the NZPPI’s Board, always bringing clear, insightful and practical thought to discussions, processes and decisions. “
“His impact is overwhelming, demonstrated through countless hours and personal expense given willing to industry advocacy and promotion.”
Malcolm’s contributions and recognition extend beyond NZPPI: he has served on the IPPS NZ committee in numerous roles and in 2006 was the recipient of the IPPS NZ Award of Merit. He is also a long-term supporter of the Auckland Botanic Gardens and RNZIH Education Trust Young Horticulturist Competition. The RNZIH has recognised Malcolm’s work firstly with Fellow of the RNZIH in 2019 and last year with their highest award, an Associate of Honour.
Malcolm thoroughly deserves NZPPI’s recognition through Life Membership; his contribution has been freely given, significant, enduring and impactful.
