The Government today announced that New Zealand will move to phase three of the Omicron response from midnight tonight. You can see the announcement here.
At phase three, only confirmed cases and their household contacts will be required to isolate. All other contacts will need to monitor symptoms, but do not have to isolate. For more information about close contacts and isolation see here.
MBIE’s Close Contact Exemption Scheme, which enables access to Rapid Antigen Tests for critical workers who are vaccinated and asymptomatic close household contacts, remains open. The ‘bubble of one’ can also be used.
Updates about rapid antigen tests, accessing them and self-reporting results can be found on the Ministry of Health’s website here.
Please continue to encourage booster vaccinations for your staff as this is important to reduce the effects of Omicron.
Thanks for your continued hard work to protect your staff and our sector.
Regards
Matt Dolan, CE, NZPPI
