New nursery programme now includes water conservation

24 Jul 2023

After a review and input from industry experts, the Certificate in Nursery Production (Level 4) now includes new areas of knowledge with optional skills to suit all nursery businesses. One of those is the inclusion of water conservation and how this applies to those working in a horticulture operation.

“Knowing how to conserve water including recycling and reusing is very important, especially to guarantee the supply of this critical resource.” says Primary ITO sector manager for nursery production, Tom Antscherl.

The new programme is also now available as a New Zealand Certificate (rather than an apprenticeship) therefore the length of time to complete has reduced and new knowledge can be applied sooner.
