GIA Update

16 Nov 2020

Since being submitted late August, NZPPI’s GIA application has been waiting for the new Government to be established.  With Minister O’Connor now confirmed, we are anticipating that the application will be progressed quickly.

In the meantime NZPPI is working closely with MPI industry on a number of GIA activities, including:

  • Progressing the development of the PPBS, which is scheduled to be launched in February 2020.
  • Working with NZ Winegrowers and MPI to develop a draft Xylella Response Plan.
  • Responding to an incursion of Tomato Red Spider Mite (TRSM) in the Auckland region.
