Skills Shortages

16 Nov 2020

The closure of NZ’s borders due to Covid-19 means that there will be lack of overseas workers – especially in high skill areas, like propagation.

While the majority of workers in our industry are Kiwis, there are a number of specialised tasks that require workers with specialist skills from overseas.

NZPPI is working with the Government to explain our need for a small number of skilled individuals.  Our submission will emphasise the important contribution of our industry to health and wellbeing and in particular the Covid -19 recovery.

NZPPI has launched a survey to enable us to present industry data to support our submission. If this affects your industry, please check your junk email folder for a link to this survey. If you believe you have missed out and would like to request a survey, please contact the NZPPI office on office@nzppi.co.nz
