Three new residence visa categories are being introduced as part of the government’s rebalancing of the immigration system:
- Two Green List pathways: Straight to Residence (StR) and Work to Residence (WtR)
- Highly Paid.
These residence pathways are designed to attract and retain highly skilled migrant workers.
New pathway eligibility
Applicants must meet the following requirements when they apply for their resident visa:
- be 55 years old or younger
- be able to meet the Skilled Migrant Category English language requirements
- be able to meet standard health and character requirements for residence, and
- have or have been offered a job with an accredited employer.
