New Zealand Certificate in Horticulture (General) Level 3
This course certificate is fully online. There are options to study this part-time or full-time depending on your other commitments. This course will give you a general understanding of plant production and will set you up to engage in future learning in industry. In this programme you will learn about:
- Growing plants from seeds and cuttings
- How plants function
- Soils and fertilisers
- How to select and prune trees and shrubs
- How to identify weeds, pests, and diseases
- How to select the right plant for different environments.
This course is currently funded under the Targeted Training and Apprenticeships Fund (TTAF). TTAF is a government initiative that will support learners to undertake fees free vocational education and training in selected programmes. The fund will cover fees until 31 December 2022.
