From time to time weed incursions occur in imported coco peat growing media. Nurseries are at the front line to identify and stamp out these incursions, which can be a serious biosecurity risk for primary industries.

NZPPI has developed a handy visual reference to help identify five of the top weed risks to look out for in coco peat growing media. More weeds to come in subsequent issues.

Please download (see link below), share with your staff and ensure you have a systems approach to scout regularly for unusual weeds in growing containers (for example, the systems approach built into the Plant Pass nursery production standard).
