To become a New Zealand Plant Production Apprentice you must be over 16, but there is no upper age limit. It is best to be employed in the plant production industry to start your apprentice journey, but this is not a requirement. As of the 1st of July 2020, the government started to cover training fees. This will run until the 31st of December 2022 for training in the plant production apprenticeship.
