Board Elections 2017

Each year two Board members retire at the AGM enabling Board member rotation. While the NZPPI Board was appointed as recently as December 2016, transitional clauses in our constitution provide for two members to voluntarily retire to begin this rotation process. Those who retire are eligible for re-election.

Nominations were called for in February for two Sector Board Seats:

  • Landscape, amenity and revegetation – representing plant producers selling their plant products predominantly to those involved in the landscape, amenity and revegetation business and/or direct to end users or home gardeners.
  • Orchards and vineyards – representing plant producers selling their plant products predominantly to those involved in the orchard and/or vine growing business.

Nominations were received in favour of Grant Hayman (Landscape, amenity and revegetation) and Geoff Thorpe (Orchards and vineyards).

Given there was only one nomination for each to the two seats, in accordance with rule 13)c)vi of NZPPI's Constitution, these nominees are deemed elected and shall serve for three years from the 2017 AGM.
